Lama Temple

I luckily managed to find the Lama Temple with only going the wrong direction once. The Lama Temple is a working Buddhist temple. Monks were wandering around the whole complex, but primarily ensuring that no one violated the rules of taking photos inside or lighting incense inside the buildings.

Since it is still in operation, it means that I was unable to take photos inside of the buildings. They have a 60 foot high statue carved out of sandalwood which completely fills one of the buildings which is quite impressive.

Many individuals bought and lit incense all around the temple complex.

The architecture was incredible- so detailed and truly inspiring and living up to its other name as the Palace of Peace and Harmony. A must see if you go to Beijing- I'm so glad that William recommended it to me.
