Ghiradelli Chocolate Festival

William and I went for our 3rd time to the Ghiradelli Chocolate Festival this past Saturday. So while it is identified as a "chocolate festival" we feel that it is more of an ice cream festival for us. For $20, you get 15 tastes- but not all tastes are created equal. Many of the pure chocolate vendors only give you a minute sample for one taste. But why would we spend one of our tastes on those when we could get say a mini-ice cream sundae with Ghiradelli chocolate or a scoop of gelato. So for us, the international chocolate salon was better for tasting chocolate but the Ghiradelli festival was best for ice cream.

I tried one of Kara's cupcakes- a mini one with chocolate and chocolate frosting- and it was ok, but I'm still a definite Sprinkles fan. We each had two mini Ghiradelli hot fudge sundaes as well as four of these cartons of Ciao Bella gelato. The Tahitian vanilla was our personal favorite, but the Mango was super good as well.

William even discovered that these containers perform an amazing trick and they stick together when they are wet.

We also had a chocolate covered cream puff from Pacific Puffs, a chocolate malt milk shake from Lori's Diner, a scoop of chocolate hazelnut gelato (pictured with me below), and a few squares of the new deluxe kinds of Ghiradelli chocolate. We were so full of sweets by the time we finished but we really enjoyed all of it.
