I heard about this new dessert from Cakespy and I had to at least try it since it combined two of my favorite things into an unexpected combination. Its called "QB's" and it is ice cream surrounded by a rice krispy treat. The flavors include vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate and are sold at Whole Foods. I decided to try the classic vanilla- I thought it would work best with the marshmellows in the krispy treats. Each box comes with four cubes so you can share.I am still not quite sure how they get the ice cream inside- there definitely isn't as much ice cream inside as there is in the picture.
I thought that it was good- it is still kind of a weird combination for me so I'm not sure that I will make a special trip to go out and buy them. But, I would definitely eat them again. I also appreciate the creativity. William had one bite and then gave the rest to me, so he really wasn't a fan.

This is exactly the sort of thing that I would see in the store and then go home and make. I mean really, how hard is it to wrap some rice crispy treats around some ice cream? Well, it is probably non-trivial. But it would be fun to try. I am thinking browned-butter rice crispies around some Tillamook Old Fashioned Vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmmm.
Vernon-
I totally want you to attempt to make them and then write about it on your blog because I am curious to hear your techniques given all of your amazing culinary skills in baking bread!
I think that if you are going to make them you should try and incorporate honey and banana. That may sound weird but a favorite family dessert is vanilla ice cream with rice crispy treats, bananas, and honey on top. It sounds a little weird and why-would-you-do-that, but seriously good. The honey gets all cold and gets a caramel texture. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!
