QB's

I heard about this new dessert from Cakespy and I had to at least try it since it combined two of my favorite things into an unexpected combination. Its called "QB's" and it is ice cream surrounded by a rice krispy treat. The flavors include vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate and are sold at Whole Foods. I decided to try the classic vanilla- I thought it would work best with the marshmellows in the krispy treats. Each box comes with four cubes so you can share.

I am still not quite sure how they get the ice cream inside- there definitely isn't as much ice cream inside as there is in the picture.

I thought that it was good- it is still kind of a weird combination for me so I'm not sure that I will make a special trip to go out and buy them. But, I would definitely eat them again. I also appreciate the creativity. William had one bite and then gave the rest to me, so he really wasn't a fan.

This is exactly the sort of thing that I would see in the store and then go home and make. I mean really, how hard is it to wrap some rice crispy treats around some ice cream? Well, it is probably non-trivial. But it would be fun to try. I am thinking browned-butter rice crispies around some Tillamook Old Fashioned Vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmmm.

Vernon-

I totally want you to attempt to make them and then write about it on your blog because I am curious to hear your techniques given all of your amazing culinary skills in baking bread!

I think that if you are going to make them you should try and incorporate honey and banana. That may sound weird but a favorite family dessert is vanilla ice cream with rice crispy treats, bananas, and honey on top. It sounds a little weird and why-would-you-do-that, but seriously good. The honey gets all cold and gets a caramel texture. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!
