Bastille Day Cirque

Yesterday, July 14th, was Bastille Day and to celebrate it, Santana Row in San Jose had a Cirque troop come and perform. The performance began at 7 and lasted a full hour. They decorated the staging area in the colors of the French flag.

Since it was free, I wasn't expecting much but I was sure impressed. And they utilized several of the songs from the movie Moulin Rouge. The aerial numbers were my favorite- they had a girl performing the silks

Another woman on the ring and then the trapeze swing

They also had some strong men who did various strength demonstrations and even spinning the giant metal cube.

It was quite a spectacular show for being free and a unique way to celebrate Bastille Day.
